CPE and CFP Certification
Many people, mainly CPAs, agents, and California Tax Education Council individuals, decide to pursue the CPE or continuing professional education credit. This can be accomplished by simply attending one of the government Nationwide Tax Forum seminars that happen. You may be an individual who is trying to get licensed and in order for this to happen the seminar attendance and credits need to be reported by you to the agency that is granting your license to you. This ensures that you will receive proper credit and certification for attending. Many individuals aren’t aware that they can get a total of 18 credits by attending which is quite a bit for attending a seminar series.
How Does The Process Work?
It may be useful to know some information about how the process works though. In order to get all 18 credits you need to attend 18 different seminars because a 50 minute one is worth one credit but some are a bit longer and the credits reflect this directly. The subject materials covered in these various seminars include ethics and taxation as well. Attendance gets monitored by each individual having their own badge which gets scanned once they enter. This helps to keep things in order and guarantee that people get their credit for attendance if they need certification. If you’re unsure about this system you can provide your email address and receive a confirmation after your code gets scanned. You may want to keep this email after each seminar as additional proof that you actually attended if an issue ends up coming up.
How Do I Get Credits?
The government has been registered in order to be certified to provide credits for the enrolled agents who are seeking them by attending the various seminars that get offered. Their registration exists with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy. Any CPE credit that is being sought should be counted but sometimes problems come up and if you have any issues with your credits being counted it is best to contact the National Registry of CPE Sponsors about it.
The government Nationwide Tax Forums aren’t only good for the CPE though because individuals who are seeking to get credit towards the CFP or Certified Financial Planners can also get some by attending the forums just like the CPE certification. The process operates in the same way as the CPE does. The barcode scans in at the beginning of the seminar and is proof that you actually attended. You, like with the CPE, are given an option to receive email confirmation as well to give you extra piece of mind that your badge actually scanned and you receive proper credit for attending.
The government has been officially registered to meet the requirements for the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. This means that all the courses should meet the standards that are required in order to be licensed and certified. However, there may be situations where problems arise and in these cases any complaints should be address to the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.
